CRD or the Centre for Readership Development believed in the above lines and forged ahead to change the world. CRD a voluntary association of technocrats, social scientists, journalists, writers etc also a registered NGO, took up the challenge of empowering the common masses through the book fair. It has been organizing the book fair in Patna since 1985.

CRD not only organizes book fairs but is actively involved in establishing libraries, informative materials, exhibitions, seminars, making documentaries and publishing books. Its main aim is to promote creative reading and writing amongst school children. It supports new comers in the literary field. It has promoted scientific research especially in the field of information and technology.
